Appropriate for babies 4 weeks until crawling.
Your new baby wants a yoga class of his or her own! This is special class event focuses mainly on your baby, a time to move those little muscles and, at the same time, bond with Mom or Dad! This class is designed for new parents to share the beauty of yoga with the latest addition to the family. In fact, this can be a wonderful opportunity for new fathers to gain more of a sense of connection with their child. Each class includes yoga postures and breath work, with baby-focused segments on the floor and standing -- yoga moves for babies' developing bodies and minds. We also give the babies a couple of breaks so that Mom or Dad gets to do some stretching and strengthening, too. Some gentle infant massage techniques also included. Direct benefits to the baby yogi include development of muscle tone, body awareness, and better digestion and sleep. Please bring along a cozy blanket for your baby as well as his or her favorite toy.
Pre-registration required. Cost: $15 or you may use your Lyric Class Card or Pass for payment. You can pre-register by either emailing us at info@lyricyoga.com or calling the studio and leaving us a message, including your name and contact information (520-219-2691). Thank you!

Congratulations! You are now a MOM! In the weeks following childbirth, your life will be completely re-shaping itself. These changes can be both exhilarating and exhausting. Even for the experienced yogini, it is important to listen to your body and acknowledge that it will have different needs during the weeks after giving birth. Muscles of the pelvic floor become an important focus as well as abdominal muscles, which remain lengthened and weakened post-birth. In addition, we focus on strengthening the back and opening the chest, areas that suffer with all the lifting you are now doing. Our Yoga for Women classes offer gentle postures and breath work, which will allow the body to recuperate and renew itself without risking injury, which often results when new moms try to do too much too soon. Just as important, class time also provides a nice “breather” for women who now face the round-the-clock challenge of tending to a newborn baby; yoga can also be a wonderful way to help any struggles with post-partum depression. Our regular Yoga for Women instructors all have Prenatal Yoga certification, which includes a thorough understanding of your postnatal needs. Make the time for yourself!
Weekly classses are ongoing, no pre-registration required.
